We already have people complaining that Gelt's startpos force you to only fight Dwarfs, or that it gets boring only fighting Skaven and Lizardmen as Lokhir. You're on the forum, you know what I mean. True, but a lot of people aren't going to think that way. Or secured Naggarond start province only to bee-line to Nagarythe. More often than not, have I simply secured Reikland and gone on a Lustria expedition with the Empire. There is literally nothing that keeps you in your start location. You'll spend like 80% fighting in your own little corner of the world, until you snowball into a mega-empire and just play cleanup for like the remaining three quarters. The real downside of huge maps is that interaction between factions grows increasingly more difficult, irrelevant and late. The only downside I can see with huge maps is increased loading time and end turn speed.
